McKissack, in association with another firm, provided construction management services to create additional parking, enhance security and improve access and safety for pedestrians and vehicles at Philadelphia’s historic 30th Street Station. The project scope included full-depth structural repairs to the plaza level and parking level concrete decks; replacement of various structural steel columns and beams supporting the plaza and parking deck levels; upgrades to surrounding plaza deck parking lots to enhance the parking capacities, including new landscaping, new lot lighting, and new pedestrian paths through the lots; complete lead paint abatement on the North passenger train platform steel structure with final application of a new protective coating; and selective replacement of building foundation columns and floor steel beams.
