NYCEDC Construction Management Retainer Contract:
McKissack was selected by NYCEDC’s Asset Management Division to provide construction management services at various properties located throughout the five boroughs of NYC. McKissack assists NYCEDC with the management, maintenance, improvements to and efficient operation of their properties. Multiple project delivery methods will be applied, including design-bid-build, design-build, design-build operate, and maintain-operate. The properties include a variety of properties owned, managed and leased by the City, by a City agency or by the NYCEDC. P
Projects include:
- MART125: managed the design concept and feasibility phase, currently managing the architect selection to transform MART125 into a cultural hub that will support Harlem community artists across a variety of disciplines. ($17-20M)
- Fulton Fish Market: building interior renovation & conversion into two spaces ($12M)
- Hunts Point Cooperative Market: multiple projects including: design procurement and management; new construction, renovation and expansion; street, sidewalk and site improvements; infrastructure upgrades
- Pier 42: demolition and hazardous abatement project, readying the pier for East River Esplanade Park Extension ($5.6M)
- 2 New 2-MW Generator Installation – $6M
- 3 Condenser Replacements – $5M
- Hunts Point Market Produce-Rail D – $7M
- Hunts Point Meat Mark Façade Replacement – $18M
- Hunts Point Fish Market-Trench and Drainage Infrastructure – $3.5M
During preconstruction, McKissack provides conceptual cost estimates based on proposed scope of work for various projects by verbal direction and/or site walk-throughs to help prioritize and/or facilitate funding requirements. We provide 100% Bid Package cost estimates prior to subcontractor solicitation and participate with the Project Team to scope, level and recommend intended award for the various bid packages.
During construction, McKissack’s services included construction administration, managing/coordinating the MEP, architectural and structural disciplines as applicable; monitoring and updating the budget and schedule; assessing and negotiating change orders; and quality control.
