Dr. Cheryl McKissack Daniel Named Grand Marshal

Dr. Cheryl McKissack Daniel will serve as a Grand Marshal of the 57th African American Day Parade in Harlem, New York.

This year’s theme, “Good Businesses Sustain Our Future,” celebrates the businesses, leaders, and organizations whose work strengthens communities and creates opportunities for future generations.

As Chair of the Board of McKissack & McKissack, Dr. McKissack Daniel carries forward a family legacy spanning more than 230 years and five generations. Her recognition as Grand Marshal reflects her longstanding commitment to leadership, entrepreneurship, community impact, and building a lasting legacy.

The celebration will feature the Grambling State University Tiger Marching Band, fellow Grand Marshals and community leaders, more than 35 floats, marching units, organizations, and family-friendly performances.
